I've always had a habit of carrying thoughts with me long after the moment that inspired them has passed. A film that leaves me questioning what I've just seen. A musical score that continues to resonate long after the final note. A conversation with a mentor that changes the way I think. Sometimes these experiences stay with me for days, even years, and I find myself returning to them, discovering something new each time.
For a long time, I've wanted to put these thoughts into words. This is my first real attempt to do so, and in many ways, it feels like reconnecting with a part of myself I cultivated during my academic years: the pleasure of questioning assumptions, exploring ideas, and engaging in thoughtful reflection through writing.
As a composer and sound artist, I've spent much of my life exploring how sound, images, and storytelling shape our emotions and our perception of reality. I've always been fascinated by how a single creative decision—changing the music in a scene, for example—can completely transform its meaning. Writing gives me another way to explore those connections and express ideas that don't necessarily find their way into my music.
These are my essays and reflections on cinema, music, art, technology, and the human experience. They are not necessarily attempts to arrive at definitive answers, but rather an invitation to remain curious, challenge what we think we know, and continue asking questions. Enjoy!
